My Best of 2009

Rhoda at Southern Hospitality  is hosting a Top Projects of 2009 Party so I thought I would join in.  I just started doing crafting and home improvement projects last year around August so I don't have very many projects in my portfolio yet.  I got so many ideas from so many talented bloggers.  My kids thought I was going nuts for a while--painting everything in sight!  Here are some of my favorites:

1.  Dining room re-do.  I painted my table and chairs that were my grandmother's black and recovered the seats with drop cloth.  I love how it turned out!!

2.  Another favorite was painting our "shoe & stuff" cabinet that sits by our back door.  This is where we each have a shoe bin and we store hats, gloves, reusable grocery store bags, etc. I got it for $99 at Aldi several years ago already assembled.  I painted it black for a more updated look.

Another favorite was my laundry room make over.  Rhoda at Southern Hospitality inspired this makeover.

I did lots of things with cabinet doors from the Habitat Re-Store (my fave store ever!).  I made a message board, family signs, a nativity scene, a copycat of Susie's I Am sign.

I made glass hurricanes for Christmas with different parts of the Nativity Scene on each one.  These were one of my absolute favorites!  I gave several as Christmas gifts.  The pictures do not do them justice.  They really are beautiful.

There is my year in review!  I look forward to creating many more things in 2010 to make my home a more beautiful place!

Love your word for the year--Think! I need to do more of that instead of always opening my mouth=).

You did some really wonderful projects! I especially love the nativity hurricanes- beautiful! I was in the habitat re-store several months ago and they had a bin full of cabinet doors. I didn't buy any and regretted it as soon as I got home. I went back the next week and they were all gone- probably 100's of them. I was so bummed. You've really worked magic on yours!!
