My kitchen that is. I ran across this wooden overlay at the Habitat Re-Store a few weeks ago and snatched it up for .75. Yep--what a deal! I ran across it again the other day and in my haste to create (as I was having withdrawals. Life was getting in the way of creating) I neglected to take step by step pics. So sorry!! It looked something like this when I bought it.
I painted it with a coat of ivory craft paint and then wiped on some antiquing glaze so it would match my kitchen cabinets. This took about 7 minutes. I cheated--didn't let the ivory get good and dry. I told you I was having withdrawals!!
Here is a picture of the kitchen before dressing up:
Here is a wider shot. I know you love all of the dirty dishes and mess everywhere. Just keepin it real for you!
I got my cute little medallion and put wood glue all over the back.
Then I place it and taped it.
I wiped off all of the excess glue because it does not dry completely clear. Trust me. I know from prior experience. I let it dry for a few hours, took the tape off, and.....
Isn't she pretty??
Not bad for .75 huh?? (The kitchen looks a bit better here too doesn't it?)
I'm linking up today to The Shabby Chic Cottage for Transformation Thursday.
Thanks for stopping by!
